I am in college actually (I like you guys so much I don't want to move up to the adult forum). I am in my third year at Adelphi University, studying art education.

I'm a freshman in highschool. I hope to go to a christian college.

I've recently borrowed this philosophy: Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Third year music major at Hillsdale College in Michigan, studying piano and playing viola and organ as well. Great liberal arts college, one of the two schools in the U.S. that doesn't take federal funding giving them much more freedom in their classes and such. I really like the music department, and for being a small college (1300 students about) the faculty are very qualified, e.g. my theory teacher went to eastman and julliard and is an active composer. It's a great school if you are looking for small, conservative, and very focused on developing thinking individuals, not just sheep who will believe whatever they hear.

I read this fact not very long ago thought I'd share it because it challenges conventional wisdom 'In the US over 5000 janitors have Doctorates or comparable degrees'

Oh thaaanks. I'm going to be getting a degree in music, and so is my best friend and some of my other good friends are going to state university right now for... music! My (almost) big brother is getting an art degree. They're perfectly legit careers.

Yes they are, but people do them to become rock stars and then can't fond a record label who likes them, or some people do an arts degree just to go to uni, but I'm probably just working off incorrect stereotypes.

Does anyone know of a school that has ASL as a Master's?

I don't think ASL is a career that colleges consider to be major enough to get a master's in, so they won't offer it. sorry :(

well, basically people do arts degrees IE bachelor of arts, because they either wanna do two majors, and can't get a conjoint degree in those 2 majors, or they want an easy degree (Not saying it's THAT easy, but compared to medicine...) or they're transferring lateron, like my brother did, he's doing a BPhysEd now...

@singforabsolution: Oh, my older brother and sister both went to Hillsdale!

I go to Baylor University, I actually waited a year, and now I'm studying Electrical Engineering.

I know I've met someone with a degree in ASL, so I'm sure it can be done... I'm not sure where you'd get a degree in it from, and I'm not sure how high a degree it would be. That said, you could probably get a linguistics masters that focuses on ASL.

Most of the nearly two billion children in the developing world have inadequate access to dinosaurs. Some receive no paleontology training at all. One in three has never even seen a dinosaur in person.

OVPC is an organization providing a means to an end - an end that sees children in even the most remote regions of the globe being given the motivation and adrenaline to tap into their own potential, identify with the survival needs of a global dinosaur-driven culture, and to contribute to a paleontological world community.

Haha I didn't even consider moving up to the adult forums, though I haven't even been on this one for a while. Well anyway, I'm another college student here, graduated high school in '08 and now attend a community college- Crafton Hills- and I'm getting ready to transfer this fall; where has yet to be decided. :P My major is dietetics, ever heard of a Registered Dietetician? That's what the major is going for. :) Nutrition, working with food, diets, and related stuff.
