I think the girls shorts were too short for a Christian book. I watched the first few seconds just to know what you were all talking about, and I agree with those who think that it's not a good way to present a Christian book. While some people may not have a problem with it, I think many will.
And as a rather conservative guy, I do not think that it was a good idea to use that video. While my body tells me that it's OK and tries to get me to watch this kind of stuff, my heart tells me it's wrong to do so.
I just think that if you're trying to sell a Christian book you should try and set the standards a little higher for a video like such.
As for not judging others, I totally agree. We're called not to judge others. But we can still discern between what's right and wrong, and for a video like such to be viewed by so many guys, if it causes them to stumble then I think it's wrong.

| Mmmmm I hafta agree - the tops were perfectly fine but uh...the shorts on some of those girls were too short, i mean in my personal opinion - I just wouldn't be wearing them. Ok i guess if they do, but personally I like my bermuda shorts..... |

I didnt really notice until i opened up this thread and saw all the concerns. Really this does bring up a good point because FYMO is all about teaching guys to be concervative and if a guy is jumping out of his pants a this Music Video on a BOOK none the less i am pretty sure we can all figure out whether he is the kind of guy we would want to hang out with.

I will just say what i grew up bein told.
There is always a good, better, best.
I would rather have things the best rathre than better or good.
My opinion is i agree with emily and daughterofeve. |

Hmmm... the music video.
Because of FYWO, I actually threw away a LOT of clothing in order to prevent even the possibility of my Christian brothers stumbling. The music video? It seemed to go against what I had done - the shirts were skin tight, and many of the shorts were only covering their rears. The dancing I didn't have an issue with, because it wasn't provocative, but dressing in less skin-tight clothing would probably have been a much better idea.
I'm not saying that those girls are any worse than I am (I have previously owned and worn tight shirts), but I don't understand why they would dress them like that for a music video for young men to see. It hurts my heart more than it angers me. Like I said, FYWO helped me understand how intensely visual guys really are, but the video was very disappointing. Maybe next time they'll dress them in a more appropriate manner.
Do nothing to cause your Christian brothers or sisters to stumble... that's what I, personally, am striving for. I hope everyone else is, too.  |

Wow - good on you Cayla! I haven't had to throw anything out of my wardrobe after reading FYWO, because my parents knew all that stuff before I could be 'corrupted'. But it takes guts to give up looking 'cute' (as in short shorts, tight tops 'cute') and to dress to protect your brothers in Christ. I know some girls who would say that it's the guy's problem, he should just deal with it so that they can dress however they like. But we girls have a great responsibility to guard the guys around us. Ok, now I'm babbling........

| i do feel that the shorts were a little short and the shirts were a little tight on some of the girls but other then that, i thought it was fine. |

I just want to tell you guys that you are so awesome - it makes me so proud to know that you take modesty seriously.

I watched the first couple of seconds - The dance was ok, but those shorts! Oh boy, they are WAY too short! The tops are on the tight side too. And the angle that the video is shot at..... not too hot!
I'm sure they could find some nice, modestly dressed girls to shoot in it. (and I don't mean ankle-length, neck-high clothes)
The message is not 'read this book, and get one of these chicks'.

Yeah. Well, I'm not sure what will happen with the video, but I've made sure Shaunti has seen your messages and knows how you all feel.
