Um, well hi! my name is Erica and im almost 14. im new to this site. i havent actually read the book or anything, but ive been confused about a situation that ive been going through and one of my good friends from church suggested this website... so yeah.. here goes.
well recently our church went to another church that is pastored by our pastor's brother. and theres this guy in their youth group that ive recently become attracted to for some reason and i have no idea why i like him, like im not attracten to him physically or anything and ive never even actually talked to him... but i cant get him out of my head, and everytime i see him i feel kinda weird, like i really want to talk to him, but im too shy. and my friend, keli (you may know her as "PeculiarTreasure") has been telling me to just pray about it and since i feel like I should talk to him for me to just go up to him and talk to him just like i do to any other guy, but i feel like God might be leading me to him for some reason, but i dont know why. and im kinda scared to talk to him. and i dont know what to say. so do yall have any advise or anything on what i can do? thanks, peace out homies!!
and btw he's like 14 or 15. |

hi and welcome!! I know what it's like to see a guy and for no reason at all you think you like him or something..and get really confused and don't know what to do. It's really frustrating!!! But you know what? It's your age!! You meet a guy and bam you don't know what to think or do! (that can still happen at almost 20 ) One of the most important things you can do is don't let yourself get to carried away with dreams and big ideas Pray about it, don't do anything rash like march up to him and ask to date!haha even though it seems like now that you like him and stuff....give it time...most likely it's going to happen a few more times!! what do your parents think about guy/girl friendships? |

talking to him and being friends is fine! Just please don't turn into one of those giddy flirty girls around guys...those girls get on my nerves God doesn't always take away our feelings for someone else, sometimes he chooses to test us and see how strong we are. Maybe be praying that on this mission trip God will help you keep your eyes and vision on Him, and don't get so concerned about being around this guy. You might strike it off and be good freinds, or you might realize you really don't like him after all!!! Life is surprising. One thing I will advise is never go on a mission trip with eyes on a guy and being more concerned with the guys in the group instead of the work you're doing. I love going on mission trips and it makes me kind of mad to see young people go on a mission trip as a way to get a date!!! |

haha i agree clare. go on the trip focussed on God and, well don't ignore him, but don't be focussed on trying to talk to him. if you end up talking, dont think it means he's the one but just look at him as a friend for the time being. so many times I have been in your situation, and it's turned out kinda bad cuz I went overboard and I'm 21 |

Turn up the music Turn it up loud Take a few chances Let it all out 'Cause you won't regret it Lookin' back from where you have been 'Cause it's not who you knew And it's not what you did It's how you live
