Ok guys,
What do you think of girls who are tomboys? Do you like it or does it have its downfalls?
Thanks |

Yeaaaaahhhhhhh, buddy! What Clare said. Girls that are too prissy, hoity toity, and dignified to get some dirt under their fingernails, throw a football, shoot a gun, ride a 4-wheeler, dig a hole and plant something, break a sweat and get dirty, and hang out with the hot, sweaty, stinky, workin' men like us, even if they keep their distance, and stand upwind. LOL I'm one of those guys, and I want a wife who is comfortable on my turf too. Sure it has its downfalls, just like everything else. All I will say is don't get too manly to where his position as the man, provider, protector, head of household, etc. is threatened. I love it when a girl pulls her own weight, and doesn't HAVE to have me do everything difficult for her, but I don't want her to just brush me off and tell me that she can do it and she doesn't need me if it's really a man's job, at least if there's one around. Make sense? I want my wife to need her big, burly man around to help her carry heavy stuff around, and open jars, but I would really like it that she can kinda take care of herself when I'm not right there. All that to say, rock on tomboys, just don't be too much of a boy that your man starts feeling like you're acting just like his ol' buddies, because you won't like to be treated the way he treats his buddies either. LOL I love it when a girl can dress up, and get all prettied up to go out, on Sunday goin' to church, and be a lady when she needs to be, but also be able to don her jeans, t-shirt, work boots, and a cap with a pony tail out the back, and feed the animals, weed the garden, or fire up the ol' John Deere and make the pieces fly. |

Man everyone here is right. I could never be with a girl who couldn't take an interest in any of the things I like (i.e. football, sports, even hardcore pillow fights). Of course there is always extremes from one end of the spectrum to the other. I mean I don't wanna date a boy, I also don't want to date a medievel princess if you know what I mean lol |

Yeah. I like girls who are fine with getting dirty and working hard and having fun playing some backyard football. I need a girl who is as active as me, but can still put on a dress for church and fancy dinners.

So you all like girls that work hard, and can have fun doing stuff like football and shooting (which i love doing both ) but aren't too tomboyish? |

Tomboyish is awesome, just as long as you can still be a girl when you need to be, and don't try to push the men in your life out of the way just because you can do it. Let them treat you like a lady and be a man, but by all means, go have a good time doing what you love! I love it when a girl can tag along with the boys and have a good time without bein' too "proper" and whatever to cut loose and have fun! I love to hunt, work, etc., and I would love to have a wife that'd want to go along with me, and enjoy it with me rather than just sit at home and "put up" with it. But...buying 2 sets of everything can get expensive really fast! Haha Have a great night! |

Thanks Grant!!!! I asked the question because I am such a tomboy (I love hunting, shooting for fun, dirtbiking, atving and horseback riding) and my brother says that guys don't like that kind of stuff. So I thought I would ask all of you guys for your opinion |

Wait, what? Did your brother mean that guys don't like doing that stuff, or they don't like it when girls do that kind of stuff??? That all sounds downright jolly to me! |

HA they're weird...maybe they just want their sister out of the way?? My brothers and their friends are always going dirt biking up in the mountains and always trying to get me to go along!!! I haven't yet cuz I haven't mastered the art of letting out the clutch (went up a tree and 'bout flipped it). And the guy I like wants to go out hunting and target practicing with me. Only I like guns not bows... |

haha ok so I used to be this tomboy who hated skirts and dresses and didn't like frills (ok I LOVED pink but that's a dif issue) and only recently have I bought my first "non formal" dress It's cool being tomboyish, like you don't mind getting dirty, like in an obstacle course where you crawl on the ground etc, but it can have it's draw backs... for instance, all the guys I was interested in LOVED hanging around me, but they all kinda saw me as just "another dude" and when I came to the formal in a dress, they were all "Wow, she actually is a girl!" how sad lol. So i kinda decided I should probably start being a girl, so I own a few dresses, not that I wear them alot, and I do the whole "make up" thing and do my hair and bought jumpers that are girly, instead of just getting tonnes of hoodies. so yeah I agree grant, you need a balance between tomboy and girly. same with guys though... like you need to be manly, so you can protect your girl (cuz seriously, most girls want a guy who can protect them ) and you need to be able to express your emotions. any girl worth your time wont think you're a loser if you cry during "A Walk To Remember" or "The Bucket List" haha. She'll think it's very strong, cuz you're letting her see you being emotional |

Jojo makes a good point, girls definitely want a guy who is brave enough to stand up for them, upfront, not in a catty back-stabbers way. Even if they are able to take care of themselves, it's nice to have someone on your side- and your husband is definitely supposed to be on your side =] Another thing I was thinking is that God is going to give the right guy to the right girl. He is going to bring the right people together. Just think if every girl was one way (shy or outgoing or tomboyish or not or whatever), and every guy LOVED that type of person... there would be no "filter" for who to be with! God makes us all different, and He makes the right person love that difference. |

If a guy doesn't cry during "A Walk to Remember" he is out!!! I bawl every time I see that and I am NOT someone who cries much! That's true Adelynn, if all guys were outgoing I wouldn't like any guys |

| Personally, Right down the middle. I like a girl who isn't afraid to get down and dirty (i.e. XC Mud Runs, Paintball, hard work, that sorta thing) but I also like it when a girl will get dressed up for the occasion. I agree with everyone who already posted not dating an extreme on either side. |

seriously, dont worry too much about playing soccer with the guys. for example, I went to a friend who lives in a dif city's youth a few times, and they played soccer every time. I joined in and played hard, and a few of the girls stood around and basically didn't play, but idk, I think that the guys liked the fact that I didn't care if I messed up my hair and could actually pass me the ball and I'd try to score... so go for it. |
