Hello,
My mom found the book, For Woman Only, and decided it was cool to send me the link for, For Young Men Only.
I strike out honestly I'm a Young Men and I come from a Christian ministry, Greater Grace World Outreach, that has a deep wealth of teaching and doctrine. I'm one to look for answers, and I have found them in the teaching that I sit under.
But...
There is a desire to hear from those outside of my usual teaching. If this is an active forum in the least bit, I have a bunch of questions and topics I'd like to pose and seek for definition on.
I believe that God has perfect definition for our lives and for every aspect of our lives. I want to hear from everyone who is interested on giving their approach to these issues. If I'm rehashing topics that have been hacked at already forgive me, but for my own clarity I'd love to start fresh discussion on these issues.
Heart
Ok, from the media, TV, internet, magazines or other sources of entertainment the Heart is so abstract.
I want to hear what Heart means to you. Concerning the relationship of friends and in the relationship of dating.
Our Bibles have lots to say about it, our teachers too, we have our opinions and there are different definitions. But what have your learned?
What is Heart start to finish, how are we to pin point the emotions that come from our Heart? The passion from within, the seeking of God's Heart for my own relationships? The all important relationship of my Heart and His?

hmmm, its hard cuz I dont quite get how/what you're asking exactly, Ill try to answer it though...
Your heart, i guess it's where all your emotions and feelings come from. It's like your center...
It's kind of closely related to your soul, i guess, and sometimes it overpowers your brains way of thinking...
I think you can tell when an emotion comes from your heart because some times, you make illogical decisions, for example, You're a year from finishing your degree and your bf/gf is moving overseas and you might never see them again, so without thinking too much, you follow them overseas, even though you're a year away from getting a qualification you've put so much work itno (like in "The Prince & Me")
When your heart aches over something, it's more often than not, your hearts emotion. or when you just cant stop smiling and your heart beats faster, another heart emotion.
When you find something you love doing, like your passion, your heart feels filled to overflowing, like you just cant get enough or you just dont want to do anything else but that one thing. like for myself, when Im dancing or singing etc for God's glory and to worship God, I dont want to ever stop!
(Im a Performing Arts person, I have a passion and ministry in performing arts and a certificate from a performing arts college... just so you get where Im coming from. Im also an assistant youth leader at church.)
As for seeking God's help for relationships and passions etc, I always pray about everything, about what Im going to study, where Im going to study, if this guy is someone God wants me to be building a relationship with, and no matter what my heart tells me, I know God knows better than myself and ultimately when we do what He's called us to do, we find that passion in it and we get to that place in our hearts where we know we are doing the right thing, and we feel content with ourselves, God and others. If i like someone and I feel God telling me "He's not right for you" or "I dont want you in a relationship with him now" I know it's better to trust God and save yourself, the other person, and God from the hurt... (I dont know if that makes any sense... but im trying my best to answer the question...)
With important realtionships of God's heart and mine, the most MAJOR one is God and My relationship. If our hearts are in sync with each other, everything else falls into place. Then our relationships with family and friends, God wants us to build each other up. and respect our families and accept our friends faults. We may not always want to, but God's heart desires us to love one another, pray together and embrace one another. and after a while, the feeling of God's heart to your family and friends becomes mutual in your own heart. and lastly, God wants us to love our enemy's. People who aren't particularly loveable. God wants us to reach out and show our love to these people, to have a heart for these people who mostly aren't saved. We need to work ALOT on these relationships because, even though it seems like the worst thing ever to be nice to an enemy, Showing God's love, and God's heart to them, might change them and who knows, maybe God will use them in astounding ways.

everyone today tells you to 'follow your heart' that could not be more wrong! if our heart would lie to us, then why would we trust it? we talk about falling in love like we fell into a pit! this way, we cannot be held responsible for our actions. it is now 'an act of passion' (paraphrased from 'i kissed dating goodbye') the heart can be a good thing, but when we rely on our emotions, things get really messy real fast. |
