So I have a family with 3 older guys in it. Other than giftcards, what do you get a guy for Christmas? What about your close guy friends? I'm one of those people who give presents to EVERYONE...but GUYS ARE SO HARD! Who wants to help me out here? :D Thanks!

Great question!!!!! Gift cards are great, but they just don't seem very original, do they? Well, I don't happen to have any brothers, but I've found that guys like FOOD!!!!! Also, they're bound to like something that will bring a good laugh. LOL! Last year, one of my best guy friends turned 18 and I made him a huge plate of brownies (about 3/4 of a jelly roll pan... my mom ate the rest!!!!! :P) because brownies are his favorite dessert. I made a HUGE mountain on a paper plate and wrapped it in aluminum foil. It looked REALLY strange! When I gave it to him, he was absolutely clueless about what it could be, and you should've seen the confused look his face when I told him not to get sick! :E Other good gifts are cd's, books, devos, etc. Even gag gifts! (Just as long as they're not morbid and gruesome... :P)

Being a guy, I would say that I it's not that important the present but the intention from the person who is giving it to you, don't think that we guys are like hard lol think that is some other person you're giving it , that way It would be so much easier.
I know sometimes the person means so much to us (no matter if is a girl o boy) and we want to give something he/she really likes but you have to search in his likes and dislikes to find what he really want.
For example, yesterday was my birthday and I got a text lol I know It might look like "really a text dude?" but it's true I got a text from a girl I really apreciate who is my friend and I loved it, because it showed to me how much she cares

seeya!

Thanks you guys! That's very helpful! I have two older brothers and my dad, and then a couple really good guy friends that I don't know what to get for Christmas. One of those friends means the world to me and I want to get him something amazing. :)
Thank you so much guys! If you have any more ideas....I'm totally open to them!

I would say what I got my boyfriend for Christmas but he comes on here and will read it!! Guys are hard though! I give gifts to everyone too! My brothers can always use a new shirt, nice flash light, food, or sometimes I'll tell them to pick something and I'll pay. My bro wanted name labels for his books so he chose and I paid. If you listen long enough you can find something they'll say they want. If he is a reader books are always an easy gift!! or a CD or DVD he wants

It just seems like food is so... I don't know. Maybe it's because I make everything from scratch... I don't want a throwaway gift, obviously, but not something that is "too much" for our level of relationship!

Thanks, good ideas :) I could never get anyone cologne because I would be afraid of picking something really gross or not knowing what I'm doing...I'd have to know the guy EXTREMELY well or have someone find out what they like for me. Food...that's a good idea. I feel like I want to give them more than food...maybe like food and a giftcard because giftcards by themselves seem so impersonal...But I also always write people Christmas cards, and I write them to be personal..sooo yeah. :D Thanks you guys!

@ Daughter, it depends on how many guys you give gifts to! I give guys gifts and they know I don't like them, well like in that way! But I am a gift giver so everyone knows I love giving gifts and everyone gets something!

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

How about.... guys, what would you love to get from your girlfriend this Christmas/what are some awesome gifts your gf has given you? I've already got something awesome, but I'm pretty sure he's getting me something with meaning (I've no idea what though!) and I'm giving him something fun. How can I make it a little more personal?

Um...I'm a super practical redneck, so this is not necessarily representative of most guys, but I'm always a supporter of tools, and useful things for gifts! Gift cards for hardware/outdoor sporting stores are awesome! Pay attention to things he could use while you're hanging out with them, worn out gloves, lack of gloves, accessories for something of his, hats(warning, some of us are picky about 'em...), cool shirts that we're too cheap to buy, worn out wallet(thanks honey! ;)), nice coffee cups, quality knives, good flashlights, If you're into spending money, Carhartt coats, and other quality winter wear, Leatherman multi-tools, little things like candy/gum/chapstick that he likes, we sometimes like struttin' around in cool underwear that our girlfriends picked out for us too. LOL Just look for things that he doesn't have that he either needs, wants, or should have, but is too cheap to spend the money on it for himself. One warning though, is if you figure out something that he could really use, don't say anything about it, so he doesn't start thinking about it. I'm a guy who, when he sees something he needs, grabs it off the shelf and buys it on the spot. In the last couple weeks, after a day of running around/shopping, my girlfriend got all sad, and after a loooong time, she finally told me that thanks to my habit, she no longer has a birthday(December 14) OR Christmas gift for me. Sorry sweetheart!
This Christmas will be my first one with a girlfriend and her family, so I can't say from experience, but my girlfriend just got me a really cool Carhartt leather/brown duck wallet for my birthday after seeing that my ol' camo leather wallet was falling apart. She's also bought me shirts, deodorant, books, etc. now and then just because. :) When it's over, it really doesn't matter what you got them, if it's something with a bit of attention to needs, detail, etc., and from you, they'll love you *forever!
