I agree with Locke, sometimes it can just be like, "wooow". and other times, there's a story behind it and the person can easily put a long sleeved shirt on for work and problem solved. but for me, I'd probably have to pray long and hard if I ever wanted to seriously get a tat.

I have an older friend who has 3, all are Christian-based, but she hates them all and wishes she had never gotten them. so she's always warning me and has said, "when you think you want a tattoo, wait a year, and if you still want it then, get it." her's were all "spur-of-the-moment". those, you probably end up regretting in the long run.

I know I will never, ever, ever get a tat of my boyfriend's name. ever! that, to me, is just...not wise. and if I will ever get one, I'm thinking I'll definitely wait until I'm married or at least engaged. because, what if my future husband is against tattoos and then, he meets me and I have one? I'm not saying God couldn't compromise that area, but I wouldn't want that to happen, y'know? I would want to honor my husband and, if he's against it and doesn't want me to get one for moral reasons, then I'll easily be able to say, "okay, fine with me, since it was only a thought."

You may as well come quiet.

"Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD."
Leviticus 19:28

I don't mean any offense to anyone who has a tattoo by posting that verse, but it pretty much sums it up for me. God says don't... so I won't. Also, on a personal note, I think tattoos make people look dirty and unprofessional.

"I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck, and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen. And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign LORD."
Ezekiel 16:11-14

These verses seem to address the earring thing. I know that my dad has said that pierced ears are fine, but he doesn't like anything more than that because it distracts from natural beauty. I didn't always agree with him, but after considering getting a nose ring (I waited and thought about it for a long time, then found that they usually don't look very nice), I realized that he was right.

That's my two cents. :)

from Ezekiel, then, nose rings are perfectly fine, but many people think those are inappropriate. I think it's kind of a personal preference. I do think the "sleeves" are a turn off, for me. But I don't have anything against one or two.

"...Do not plant your field with two different kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven from two different kinds of thread." Lev. 19.19 Do we get to pick and choose which verses we follow, and which are "impractical"?

Let me do a little to explain this "he doesn't notice how much effort i put into looking good today" phenomenon

Girls, first of all let me explain that we DO notice, trust me. I remember a day when a girl I was very interested in showed up at the mall to meet me, with a huge smile and looking incredible. (that means she was modest, and looked amazing) I was knocked out.

And
I
Didn’t
Say
A
Thing
About
It

Girls! GIRLS! Please, put the stones down…hehe….eh….

Let me explain myself, and here is why. For me complimenting someone on how they look is something I have only seen my Mom and Dad do, or couples, or whatever. My point is that for me holding hands with a girl is much less “significant” for me than complimenting her on how she looks. I was sure if I said anything about how she looked I would immediately turn the “hangout” into an odd, awkward afternoon. It seemed way to presumptuous to assume that she dressed like that for me, and get this I didn’t want her knowing just how blown away I was, because I wasn’t comfortable with how that made me feel. For me, going “Wow, you look absolutely stunning” was about half a step away from being the next tom cruise “I LOVE HER I LOVE HER I LOVER HER”….yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaa….

-disclaimer…I’m just one guy out of many…could be different for others, you’ll just have to ask them yourself!

PS. Emily, don’t worry to much about you guy friends “doesn’t like your best friend when she looks good” act. He just isn’t comfortable with how he really feels about her yet, I’m sure there is an insecurity in there somewhere making him say those things.

(seriousley, someone is going to have to tell me if I'm talking to much!)

I love it when a girl smiles
I love it when a girl looks me in the eye
Both at the same time will make me crumble into a blob on the floor even if I don't show it,
I love it when she is open to my questions!

firstly Koudee... you're not talking too much... girls love talking and often wish their guy friends would talk more. I know I do... I feel akward in MSN convo's etc where I write like 5 lines, and he writes 1 or 2 in reply... it's like I'm doing all the work.
That aside...
I do the same thing, If I see a guy friend (especially if I like him) and he looks incredibly handsom, I don't say anything cuz, most likely, I'd blush really badly and he'd know haha.
and I remember one guy friend once said to me "I so didn't know you had a cleft, you can't even tell!!" (he said it really sincerely) but I kinda felt akward and I snapped back "Well I can!!" and then afterwards felt like such a horrible friend! I felt so bad, cuz he was being nice, and I kinda probably hurt him by snapping back at him :( poor guy!!!

Ok I totally ressurected this thread because I think there is something every girl needs to know that guys like.

We Love it when you eat like a normal human We hate it, and I mean hate it when we go out to eat and the girl gits the smallest thing possible or "the salad" and starts eyeing the napkin because that looks better than what she got. I'll never forgot the day I hung with a girl I sorta liked and her mom picked up some food for us all and she just picked up some food and ate, =Nom nom nom chomp chomp chomp= awesome.

HAHA koudee, that's good to know! I eat heaps! (well, for a girl my skinny as size :P ) Like I can't eat lots in one go, but I eat like 5-6 times a day... and... I actually can't stand eating salads!!!
When I go out to eat, I order a normal size meal... and I don't get why girls are so "I don't eat carbs cuz they make you fat..." All i practically eat is carbs, and I'm so skinny it's not funny!!! I wish I wasn't this skinny... so girls... Carbs don't make you fat!

Are you kidding?! Man i cannot live without carbs! I love bread too much. :p Seriously though Jojo, I don't get that attitude either. Carbs do NOT make you fat; ANYTHING eaten in over excess will make you fat. To be blunt: You NEED carbs, along with fat, and protein. It's part of a healthy diet. I'm sorry, the attitude about carbs making you fat is bogus and dumb. Anyways, sorry guys, (I just finished a health and nutrition class and everything is still in mind) all i have to say is that food is good for you, and i'm not talking about a McDonalds Big Mac here. Those are disgusting. yuck!

Honestley, I'm at the point that I don't take diet advice seriousley anymore.

I have three rules. No high Frucrose Corn Syrup, hydranated oils, trans fats, or partially hydrated anything. But the HFCS is the BIG one to look out for. It doesn't even register with your body as food, you might as well be eating sweet taseting plastic that turns into fat!

and number two: The only liquid I drink is water. No sodas, no gatorade, nope.
And number three: No "Diet" "low fat" "reduced fat" stuff. Often the substatutes are far worse than what they replace.

I eat as much as I want, as often as I want, anytime I want. Still lose 10lbs a month. Two scoops of ice cream before bed with raw organic honey topped with almonds and a orange?...sure!

If my body is craveing something, I eat it, simple.

But I gotta say it rox my sox off to know that you guys eat like real people!

Lol, Koudee, you're statement is true in more ways than one! I really can't believe some people (mainly the females) take the "eating as little food as possible" philosophy seriously. I would die of starvation if i skipped a meal. I'm obviously exaggerating, but really, my philosophy regarding a healthy diet is: eat healthy and exercise daily. (I am NOT talking about replacing a meal with a Rockstar. How do people do that?) Anyways, HFCS- it's evil stuff, but it's also in just about everything. I try to avoid it when i can, and as for soda, :P I might have one on occasion, like a root beer float or something, but even that is rare. One thing i'll say about myself though, is that i have a MAJOR sweet tooth; i can be absolutely stuffed from eating a Thanksgiving dinner, but if there's dessert, it's like i have a separate chamber for dessert. :P On the other hand, I am a total health nut, so I do monitor what i eat really closely and I workout at the gym about 3-4 times a week, but that doesn't stop me from totally pigging out once in a while. :D

haha, Cody, what you said is basically my diet... and Jojo, you're right, I actually think worrying about what you eat makes it unhealthy or something (which is something I've never really seriously worried about) =]
