I often wonder what makes the female body so attractive to guys? Honestly. Why in the world is our body something that a guy is attracted to? Obviously both guys and girls can be attracted to someone’s face/hair ect. But besides that, why our bodies are attractive to guys more than guy’s bodies are attractive to girls has always seemed strange to me. Obviously guys are wired differently than girls, however many girls are incredibly visual too. I guess what I’m getting at is, what makes our bodies more attractive?

| You've hit the nail on the head, really. Guys are designed that way - girls aren't. Girls might appreciate what a guy looks like, but honestly, you'll never see it the same way we do. God designed us to appreciate and enjoy and look for a woman's beauty. There might be more to it than that, but if so, I can't think of it. |

Because... Well... Just look at it! The real question is not, "Why are guys so attracted to the female form?" but, "Why are girls not all lesbians?" The female form is by far the most Beautiful thing God ever created.

| Me and some of my girlfriends were talking about this a few nights before another friend of ours got married. And we all were in agreement that when we looked at our bodies we all just went "Gross, what in the world do guys like about our bodies?" Because we couldn't see why guys are atracted to the body and especially we couldn't see why guys like less or no clothes... |

I have to say that this has given me insight. I do know that God created man to be more visually stimulated than women though; we females will probably never understand fully the visual stimulus God gave to our male counterparts, but i do think that ought to respect ourselves and the opposite gender in how we dress  |

WWHAT!? Courtney are you kidding me!? I never would have guessed that girls really have no idea!
Thats so strange, I knew girls were different, but this really puts things into perspective.
Welll, comeing from a scientific standpoint, people say that a girl with bigger hips is more likely to give birth with less complications, auw, I can't remember them all now, but people like to say these days the the things men like about women relate to how "fertile" she is for childbirth. (However, there is some debate about the breasts, because studies show that the size does not relate to chile well-being and other results don't add up)
Un~scientifically, Curves. And the only reason I'm pointing that out is because I don't like it when girls think they have to be pencil thin to be attractive. |

I totally agree.... I'm a girl and most girls, friends and strangers say to me "gosh I wish I was as thin as you!!" and I say "Why? I wish I was bigger cuz I'm WAY TOO SkINNY!" but no matter what I eat, I still remain tiny  Sucks to be me  haha JOKES, but yes, i'd love to not be so tiny...
Pencil thin isn't cool... I mean, i'm no pencil, but I can't stand it when girls wanna be skinnier than i am... as for girls bodies... I have no clue why guys like them haha. Idk, being a girl can sometimes be annoying for reasons I won't go into detail about lol |

Girls can no more comprehend why guys are so attracted to them physically than guys can comprehend how a girl can look past someone's looks.
I like healthy thin. Sickly, anorexic thin isn't attractive, but healthy thin is.

I agree with what every girl said on here. I don't see anything attractive about me. Yuk. That's almost gross. Maybe I'm taking it too far, but all that kind of stuff is repulsive to me...there isn't anything that I see that's attractive about a girl's body! I heard once that guys like girls who eat...I like a guy who eats! in my family we eat like horses, all the time any where and we are all as thin as rails!

Well, I hope you girls can see SOME beauty in yourself in the way that God made you!
But, no, I don't think I've ever looked at a guy's body and thought, "OH yeah, I gotta have that."
A friend of mine says, a girl notices a guy with a nice body and thinks, "He's good-looking."
Guys look at a girl with a nice body and think, "I'd like to sleep with that."
I guess it's really true.

LOL I never go past thinking "That guy's good looking" ever.
but yes, now that I realize how guys can get affected, it's easier for me to try to help them not to think of me, or others like that (if I can help it...) |

Yes i must ask why men are attracted to women's bodies. And David that was like the FUNNIEST thing you have ever said. I didn't expect your normally-physicological response to include such a funny comment lol. But yea I mean I can look at my boyfriend and google about how handsome and cute and brilliantly blue his eyes are (hehe im getting a goo-y now lol) and talk about how I love his strong arms and golden hair and the way he looks when he smiles, and I could even admit he is distracting without a shirt on lol. But I mean, my reaction to him topless is not at all like what his reaction would be to me topless. And I have to wonder - why? Men are amazing and can be GORGEOUS, but yet, thier bodies don't trigger us girls the same way. Yet, a man looks a girl who in her own eyes is simply average, and his hormones are sent spinning. Quite confusing. I'll ask God when I get to heaven. lol

| I was talking to my bf about this the other night. I was saying that a girls looks matter more to a guy than a guys looks matter to a girl. (at least for a normal decent girl) He had to agree that is true. I asked why, why do guys think of girls like that? All he could say is that's just how they are wired. He wanted to know then why I like him so much when he is so big, and not the best looking guy out there. I always laugh. I tell him that his weight matters to me, but even more I love his blue eyes and perfect nose his wonderful laugh his passion for God and gentleness with people and sensitive spirit.(ok I'm getting just as bad as you MLHW!) Why is it so hard for a guy to understand how a girl can see all those inner qualities inside their homely(or big) outside? |

The female equivalent of a guy's visual nature is her romance nature. There is more pressure on girls to be physically attractive, but there is more pressure on guys to always do and say the right things; essentially, to perform. We have to do the approach, be confident, witty, charming, etc., things which a girl doesn't have to deal with nearly to the same extent. All of those things are equally meaningful/less to the girl having to be physically attractive. There is no real double standard here.
Perhaps it is hard for him as, being a guy, he is more wired to the significance of physical appearance, and he naturally applies the same significance, from his male perspective, to himself. Guys want their girlfriends to find them physically attractive. |

| Also, to the girls, be careful with how you approach this looks issue. In Christian culture right now, it is taught that if you care at all about looks, you are shallow, vapid, and not a good person. As God made men more visually oriented, this is yet another veiled attempt at discrediting and disrespecting men. Yes, men can go overboard with it (just as women can go overboard with wanting a guy to be unrealistically confident, witty, charming, etc.), but the desire itself is actually a good, holy, God-given thing. |

| Guys do have a lot of pressure to be awesome in so many ways, but so do girls. Most girls, honestly, would be bored to death with Disney's Prince Charming; yet we're still supposed to be Snow White and Cinderella. I don't know any guys who are Superman, and I don't know any girls who are Gizelle. I think we all give and take a little. |
