| I don't really know why I called it that. I'm tired.
In another thread we have had some interesting discussions about how girls are attracted to guys with an adventurous spirit. Unfortunatley, this often comes out in an attraction to the bad boy persona, but can also be an attraction to decent guys.
My question, then, is for the girls. What kinds of things do guys do that trigger this "adventure attraction"? How exactly can we be not boring? How can we have an adventurous spirit without having a negative spirit (many of the adventurous things that were listed in the other thread involved doing something wrong, or breaking various rules, and it was in that sense of "badness" that came the adventure; and that version of this is wrong)? |

I have a few ideas, though I'm obviously not female. It doesn't have to be something dangerous or illegal or immoral - it can be something suh as skydiving or learning Spanish together - the willingness and eagerness to try something new. Not letting yourself get stuck in a rut doing the same old routine. Doesn't have to be complicated. |

| Going for a hike in the rain, going outside after dark to find the scarry noise outside the window, riding the 100ft drop roller coaster, anything! Or even making a boring job fun. Some things may not feel like an adventure to the guy but if it's something that the girl is scared to do alone and her guy will do it with her it makes her think of him as a daring hero! I have more to say bet I'm typing with one hand cuz I'm holding my little sis so the rest will have to wait. |

For me, adventuristic stuff is like going bush wacking, I've done it b4 and it's fun or go carting, snowboarding, sky diving, a guy trying to do backflips or whatever (seeing as my brother and I are very competitive with gymnastics, and it's actually really awesome when a great guy joins in ) um... idk, hiking, him trying to convince me to do something, like learn to surf properly (i can stand on a board but that's about it, and I hate waves, cuz i've almost drowned twice...) etc etc |

| Adventure is not being afraid to try something new, whether it be a new food, an extreme sport or whatever. Just doing something for the fun of it. Provided, of course, that it doesn't endanger any lives - that's when it become stupidity. |

(did that make sense?) also, be spontaneous. i love spontaneous guys. lyk the guys that will just say something sweet out of nowhere or who will do something crazy in the blink of an eye. sorry if that didn't make sense /: |

LOL i get you Maddie! like my little bro (who's 18 tomorrow) is spontaneous... and I think it's crackup (just cuz he's my baby bro and I like teasing him...) (Crackup means hilarious...) like his x girlfriend was obsessed with edward cullen (from twilight) and my bro said something randomly in the middle of "The Warehouse" which is NZ's version of Walmart... he said "I'll be your edward..." and I heard it and I burst out laughing histerically... it was totally random and I thought it was so cheesy etc hahahaha he's never lived it down |

| Don't just hurt the face, deform it! I love faces with character. Those perfect faces are so fake, no crooked smile or odd nose. Faces just have to have personality, I'm afraid mine has quite a bit! This is way off the subject, but my bf loves the movie Braveheart and I watched it because he told me how good it was. I don't make a pracitce of watching rated R and he skipped the nude scenes (they totaly ruin the movie). Anyway, why is it that guys love the movie so much? True Wallace is fighting for the girl he loved, but I wasn't very impressed with him. (I liked his red headed friend) so why is it that Braveheart is "the best movie ever" to so many guys?? |

It speaks to the heart of being male - adventure, being a part of something truly and genuinely important, and being a hero both to your woman and to those around you. Also, specific to Braveheart, it twinges our protective natures with how Wallace's wife gets killed causing him to incite a nationwide rebellion. The movie version of Wallace presents what all guys want to be: strong, honorable, compassionate, intelligent, heroic - a veritable warrior poet. And the movie is just so awesome. You should also watch Gladiator for similar awesomeness. And of course The Lord of the Rings trilogy. All of those movies are, in my opinion, the best of the epic action movies (at least that I've seen). Some action movies are just about the action with little story, but those movies have true heroics in them and represent a deep part of the masculine heart. And they're just awesome. |

| All guys are the same!! I don't understand it but I am glad they are that way. I suspected you would suggest Gladiator! So if a guy likes to watch those kinds of movies with thier girlfriend would they watch a girlie movie with her? the guys always want to watch the gory scary kind. I'm starting the extended Lord of the Rings. It's dark but awsome! |

| Well, it depends on the type of girly movie. As I've talked on here a lot about, in my belief a lot of those movies are a form of female pornography and should be avoided. However, if the movie is a genuinely decent movie that happens to be girly, then yeah, he should be willing to watch it with you. |

Alrite I hate to be the one to get back on topic...lol. Anyway I agree with everything the other girls said. Adventerous is my boyfriend making me take 3-point shot after 3-point shot over and over AND OVER until I FINALLY got it in the hoop ( YAY!) and him cheering me on through every missed shot. Adventerous is squeezing your girlfriend's hand really tight when she scared. Adventerous is making her go on that scary roller coaster because you know deep down she really wants to. Adventerous is doing something to bring out her "little girl" side-like taking her to a field and picking her wild flowers and spinning her around. Adventerous is teaching her how to throw a baseball, just you and her on the field. Adventerous is grabbing her hand and running down to the playground at the local park to push her on the swings. Adventerous is letting her play football with the guys, or even taking her out in the rain to play football with you in the mud (I'm serious like EVERY girl wants a chance to play football in the mud with a guy!) Adventerous is suggesting you climb a tree - and bringing a snak and a coke up and talking till its dark outside. Adventerous is helping her catch a butterfly - or fireflies at night. Those are just a few. Adventerous might sometimes be corny, but girls like that. Just something sweet and spontaneous seems like the best adventure to a girl |

I have to agree with the girls who have already posted on the guys' adventurous spirit; it doesn't have to be any of the 'bad boy' illegal stuff (actually that would turn me off and send me walking straight back to where i came from) I would characterize the adventurous spirit as being daring/willing to go out and try something new. |

you guys have basically said everything I wanted to (including the cracks at Eddie, haha)! I completely agree about being spontaneous is probably 90% of what adventurous has to do with. it doesn't have to be BIG... just fun! I think I have a huge guy side instilled in me when it comes to movies, haha. I absolutely adore Braveheart, Gladiator, and especially Lord of the Rings. I could (and do!) watch those movies every couple months and never tire of them. =] |

| what are good movies that couples can watch together without it being weird for the one? I wouldn't make my bf watch a chick flick ( think I've only seen 4 or 5) and I kind of think movies about car races are boring. So what would be a good balance!! |
