I have a question, it's kind of random, but I was wondering: what's your favorite Bible verse? I'm hoping to get a good response so i have a lot of new verses to reflect on and look up. :)

I'm giving my life
to the only One
who made the Moon reflect the Sun
every starry night,
that was His design

Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

I think I would consider this to be my life verse

I have SO many Bible verses that I love....I love the Bible! :)
Some of my favorites are Romans 12 (We had to memorize that for my Sunday School class. I got done first :)) You can look that one up yourself, it's too long to type. I also like James 1:2-3:
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you experience trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
And SOS 8:4 "Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires."
And I also like Jeremiah 29:11, which is why it's my signature! (I guess you could have figured that out yourself:))

Psalm 42 is amazing to me. I love the desperation for God that it has. I was amazed when I read, "Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again- my Savior and my God!" I will put my hope in God! Reading that made me realize how I had become so distracted by all of these things in my life, instead of knowing (and acting on that knowledge) that I can trust Him.

And Psalm 45. It sounds like a fairy-tale, it's so innocent and happy.

I also like Proverbs! All of them.
Every morning my mom and my brother and I read a chapter from Proverbs (we're homeschooled). It's really nice, because there's 31 chapters. So December 27 you read Proverbs 27, on the 28th you read the 28th chapter. Then you start over at the beginning of the next month. I think my favorite chapter is chapter 17.

i have SO many! ..but i'll try to narrow it down. Romans 8:31-39 - love it. "..if God is for us, who can be against us?..Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?.. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons.. nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." i reeeeally like Song of Solomon as well.. the way i see it, it's a reflection of God's love for us, the love we should feel for Him -- and how our relationship should be with our future spouse should be modeled after this relationship with God. it's as if the book is a patient, innocent love story that constantly reminds us that true love waits. :) i'd have to say my all-time favorite is Jeremiah 29:11 though!

Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.

I LOVE Isaiah 41:10 and Jeremiah 29:11 :D I have a TON of Bible verses that I love, but here's one I lean on a lot: Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? (Matthew 6:31)

Latley, I have really been working on doing what God wants me to and going where He leads me, so this passage is my favorite at the moment. Its Isaiah 6:5-8 and it says:

5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Why do we go with the flow
Or take an easier road?
Why are we playin' it safe?
Love came to show us the way
Love is a chance we should take
I'm movin' out of the way

Such a good Subject. Something that I have been doing recently is picking out a few verses that pop out at me, and then writing down a reflection about them.
In one of my classed (Developing a Devotional Life) HW last class was Lectio Divina which is in Latin and mean Divine listening. Which when you read the Bible that is what you are suppose to be doing. Listening to what God is trying to tell you today.

But anyways I had a 4 day streak a few weeks ago where I couldnt sleep, and was awake still at 6-7am. And so this one is what I wrote the second night at 4am. I definitely suggest, when you do read you Bible of you only do a few verses. Read it over multiple times and then write down what you are getting from it, what you hear from the verse. Chances are you will write something down you don't expect. That definitely happened to me with this.

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

What a thought! "My power is made perfect in weakness." Christ's power is made perfect in our weakness, in my weakness. It's so hard to actually grasp. The man who sits at the right hand of God; who came to earth, lived a perfect live, and then died so we could live, that his power is perfect in our weakness. Why does he even need our weaknesses? He is all-powerful, he can cure the sick, heal the blind, raise the dead, cast out demons. Why would someone so powerful and so perfect need us at all? The answer is found throughout the history, God wants a relationship with us, he longs for it. He wants to be invited in, to be longed for. He wants to make all of us, as imperfect as we are, completely perfect. He wants to make us, as broken and scarred as we are, whole and unblemished. Why wouldn't we want that, to be made perfect, whole and unblemished? And at what cost? Jesus paid that price for us when he died on the cross. All we have to do is accept it. Are you ready to accept it?

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will recieve the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12

Here are also some verses I love. They will soon be decorating the walls of my room!!

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve if what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:1-2

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21

But, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
2 Corinthians 10:17-18

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:2-3

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17**** (Amazing!!!)

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
Hebrews 3:13-14

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12

Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for human desires, but rather for the will of God.
1 Peter 4:1-2

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:8-9

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18

We love because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:8-9

Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for human desires, but rather for the will of God.
1 Peter 4:1-2

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will recieve the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

I have one for Valentine's Day:

"God showed us how much he loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love- not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." 1 John 4.9-10

I have quite a few, many from Proverbs. Here's the one on the top of my head.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes it is a tree of life."
Proverbs 13:12

"Life is not a matter of holding good cards, it's playing a poor hand well."

Let’s stop trying to FIND the right match and instead BE the right match.
