I don't have a purity ring, but I wish I did. A friend of mine did this whole purity book program with her parents leading up to her sweet sixteen and then got a heart shaped DIAMOND purity ring that looked like an engagement ring which she never wears because her parents don't want her to loose or break it. Everyone was so jealous of her.

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

As far as i know clare, no you do not because noone is perfect so we are always going to fail that's just the way it is. So no as long as your always trying then it doesn't matter if you mess up because we all do.

idk it's a debatable issue... lol even I donno how to answer that :P

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

Personally, in my family on our 13th birthdays we get a purity ring of our birth stone. Mine is a diamond so due to the whole engagement ring being a diamond, I'm going to wear mine on my right ring finger. (I say going to cause my 13th is this April!!!) But I agree with you guys that your purity ring should be replaced by your wedding ring.

Blessings,
Bubbles

*I want to correct my original post: I said I wore my ring on my left finger- actually I got mixed up. I usually wear my ring on my right ring finger. :P Sorry about the confusion.

As for purity rings: If you fail once, then repent to God, and start anew- I totally think you're still "allowed" to wear your purity ring. It should remind you of why you're choosing to wait. :)

Just started wearing one at the start of this week, and I don't know how many people have stared it and/or asked me if I was married. LOL It's this one. http://www.c28.com/shopping/productdetails.asp?recordid=12321

Ooh, shiny! :)
Mine is a thin band that says "True Love Waits" in black letters.
My brother got one a few weeks ago- it says something in Hebrew that i don't know (I'm not exactly fluent in Hebrew) - but he refuses to call it a "purity ring" or even just a "ring"
It's his "blingage"! yup umm....impressive ;)

I got one from c28! But I have tiny fingers and couldn't get the size I wanted, and didn't have the money for the one i really liked. So I found one at a pawn shop!! It's just a thin gold band with a tiny heart with a clear stone of some sort in the middle. And it was small enough to fit on my finger!

hmm, I think I've asked this before at least once- but why do you personally wear your purity ring?

they are a reminder to keep yourself pure. Physically and pure in heart. they themselves don't do a thing and they are just a reminder and can loose even that.

:) I like shiny things! Haha he's just really doin' his Hebrew thing! LOL
Clare, that stinks you couldn't find your size! I've got short fingers, but I'm a pretty beefy fella, so that wasn't a problem, especially since they have that handy dandy li'l print-out ring-sizer thingamajigger! Heh, never thought to look at a pawn shop for one...I'm not that patient. Haha
Adelynn, I wear it because I know I am weak, and need reminders to keep myself pure. Whenever I see something, etc., my ring reminds me that I need to guard my eyes, etc. I work at a college campus as a landscaper, and when the weather starts warming up in the spring, things start coming out that haven't seen the sun in a while, and I think it'll help with that. I use mine more as a reminder than as a symbol to others that I am committed to staying pure until marriage.

That

didn't work out so great for me! I had to return mine and get a different size, and it's still too big. :(

I'm a half size, 5 1/2 I was sized by a jewler (long story) you just have to walk in there and say "hey can you size me" its easy. My friend's dad wears a ring on his pinkie finger and I can't keep it on my thumb!

haha Clare, I have to wear little kids rings because my fingers are so small!! (I'm not super tiny, my fingers are just really thin)

Okay, I've got a question- what does it mean when a guy who always wears a purity ring doesn't wear it? Maybe this is a dumb question, but this is the only guy I know who wears one... I think he has a girlfriend but I'm not sure. Does that mean he got engaged, or what? Or doesn't it mean anything? (Not that I care...ahem)
