| Ok so i have very nice guy friend(he is my age)... and in december i hadn't seen him in almost a year.
When i did see him he came up to me and gave me a hug. I hugged him back as in "wow how are you haven't seen ya in awhile" but i dont want him to take the wrong way. should i be hugging him if were just friends?? and how do tell him that?
does anyone know what i mean??? |

I donno... I kinda hug all my guy friends, unless I know they're attracted to me and I'm not interested... and I watch how I hug them... never bear hug them and side hugs are better... 
as long as he's not the only one you hug, you should be fine. 
but you could always pull the friend card in when you hug him... like say "You're a good friend" when you hug him... idk. |

well see he is my only guy friend that i talk to.. so yeh he is the only one i hug.
but nxt time i see him, i think i will only hug him from the side. plus i think i have a crush on him though... |

Wait... if you have a crush on him then why are you worried about hugging him  haha but back to your first question i dont think it matters who you hug as long as you dont make it awkward i kinda hug all my friends who are girls when i see them ive neber seen anythting wrong with that |

| Hmmmm... that could mean he likes you but dont take my word for it i dont know him he could just be wanting to hang out cause he hasnt seen you in a year. Maybe you should hang out with him idk thats really just your choice but just wondering (not in a creepy way haha) but how old are you guys? |

| If you don't want to date then don't worry about it. you should just hang out and if you feel he is trying to pursue you make it clear your not ready for a relationship. you guys can just be friends anyways. |

| I would go with exactly what fishy said. Just keep being friends and try to be careful about how you are acting like unintentionally leading him on because that has happened to me recently and then the girl was all like "o i have a boyfriend" and i was like wow then why did you give me all those signals? so yeah just keep that in mind! but if he starts to pursue just go with what fishy said |

OK form a girls point of view: I went to a Bible camp last summer and hung out with a bunch of awsome Christian guys and girls. Anyway there was this one guy i had known a few years earlier, then we moved away. I was talking to him about a not-very-tragic-tragedy and he said "Awww, Liz" and leaned over and gave me a hug. I gave him a hug back like it was all fine and normal, but in my mind there were like alarm bells going off! AAAH this guy is hugging me! I'm a sheltered homeschooler! I hadn't known any "huggy" guys up to that point. So on the way home (a nice two hour thinking time) I thought about it alot and decided I didn't want to hug guys unless I was dating. (which wonn't be for a while either) I think it's kind of like you save your first kiss, you can also save your first hug. and you shouldn't say "oh, i already missed my first one, too late." I'm sticking with my no-hugging rule (as in no-hugging-guys-rule).
