So there's this kid at my chruch who keeps following me and my friend around. He's ..flirting a bit, and saying these weird things. And here's the main problem: He's 12. I'm 17. Should I tell him to leave us alone, or ask him mom to talk to him? I'm a little apprehensive about talking with his mom, I mean, how can you say "I think your 12-year-old boy is flirting with me, can you tell him to get lost"? That just gets awkward! So...help.

It would probably be best to talk to his mother. That way you don't come off offensive to the kid and then he turns around and tells his mother what you said, except he makes the story a little more extreme than it actually was. It will just create unnecessary drama. I'm sure his mother will understand if you tell her that you're uncomfortable with it and you'd really appreciate if she could talk to him. Hope I helped. ~Kid Love

it's awesome that you are going straight to someone who can stop this instead of waiting around for someone (him, his parents or your parents) to take a hint.

I think that it would be more comfortable to go to his mom. Just because a 12 year old is still usually not getting the big picture, and his mom can hopefully talk to him about it. I think the object of a 12yo's affection telling him to leave her alone isn't going to work very well =]
