I don't know how to tell if a guy likes me. I always assumed that guys give the most attention, even if it's not flirting, to the girls they really like. But I'm finding it's harder than that to tell. I've known guys who flirt with girls because they're popular, not because they really like her. Sometimes I get random compliments from guys I hardly know... then the guys who are my friends barely speak to me at youth group and stuff. And sometimes it's vice-versa! So really, is there a cut-and-dry way to tell, or do I just wait until a guy says to my face that he likes me???

| Most the time to play it safe I'd just wait till the guy tells you straight to your face he likes you. The only way I have ever been able to figure it out before the guy told me is he was very obvious constantly calling me pretty, texting or calling every day, and when I was around him he followed me every where I went but most guys aren't going to be that obvious.... |

Haha an age old question my dear. 
Lol some guys are pretty obvious in telling you that they like you. One guy would follow me around and say hi in a certain way; he somehow asked if there was any chance for us- not to mention karaoke serenading. Some guys will compliment you, make it obvious he likes and wants to talk to you, and state quite plainly that he likes you.
Then there are the not so obvious- and that might make up the majority- possibly.  There are a few things that I can think of that might mean he likes you: he gets all tongue tied when he's around you or trying to talk to you (one of the cuter incidences if you ask me); he likes to be around you and really enjoys your company (though I would be careful with this one, it could just mean he values your friendship a lot...); You catch him looking at you a lot, though he tries to be discreet about it, and maybe smiles at you, but hardly gets up the nerve to talk to you in public (this is cute too, but it's a little more jr high/high school level maybe). Or maybe he gives more subtle hints, like being extra friendly or considerate of you? Haha I'm not a guy, that's for sure, and I'm one of those girls that do not notice when a guy likes her or completely misses it and turns her head to look for another girl behind her when she sees a guy coming toward her (because he can't possibly be coming to see or talk to her, so it must be the girl behind her)

| I know of a guy at i think likes me at least a friend whose way of showing affection is to tease and "battle wits," if you know what i mean. I think this is not as common away to show affection, though. |

I'd say you all are pretty right on on this one. Also, I honestly have no idea what percentage of teen guys I speak for, but other things to look for would be if he acts noticeably more confident when talking to you than other people or noticeably less confident. If he acts more confident around you than other people, it usually means that he is trying to flirt with you, and if he's acting less confident when talking to you, it probably means that he REALLY likes you, but is so intimidated by your awesomeness that he doesn't have a clue what to say to you. However if he treats you like any other person, then he probably doesn't like you.
Also, if a guy likes you, he will (at least try to) be more friendly towards you and throw in compliments seemingly anytime where there is any possible chance of it being a good time. I for one am horrible at the timing part of this whole dating thing and, again, I don't know how many other guys in this universe are like this.
One more thing: If in the middle of conversations, he starts those random, stupid, meaningless arguments with you (you know what I mean), and he does it a lot, I think it means that he likes you and wants to see how you react so he can figure out whether or not you like him back. I find that I do this a lot and don't know why, but now that I think about it, it makes sense. But if this guy is just a randomly insane person and starts those random arguments with everyone, then he's just an obnoxious person.

| Well, that REALLY helped me!! This is good advice I'm going to keep in mind. I know guys may not understand this, but as a girl, the way a guy reacts around a girl he likes can be really cute. Of course, I'm speaking from the outside looking in, but still... life is more interesting with guys around- and I mean that in the MOST sincere and friendly way possible. |

For the most part, I think SirKyle has nailed it! I will say I've never started an argument with a girl just to see if she liked me ( ), but the rest is spot on!
Most guys (Myself included) will get nervous around the girl they like. That nervousness is hard to hide! Some guys may compensate for that nervousness by jumping the other way (Being cocky, confident, etc.), but if they truly like you, they won't try to game you. Any of the lame pick-up lines, awkward hitting-on, and just generally cliche stuff cocky guys tend to do won't even enter into his mind if he likes you. They wouldn't want to mess up any potential relationship before it begins.
Besides that, I think SirKyle and Nicole have nailed the rest!

In and of itself, stealing glances at you is not proof positive, but it's a good sign depending on how he's doing it. Does he turn beet red when you catch him? Or get embarrased in some similar fashion. If so, like I said, it's a good sign.
