ok. There is this guy at church that I really like, but the problem is that I think he is a jerk and annoying at the same time!! I mean he has that boyish charm to him and I just can't keep my mind off of him!! I don't know quite how to explain it but like every time I finish talking to him I think.... man, even if he did like me there are so many things that I DISLIKE about him. And you would think that I would just move on but I so totally like him and want him to like me back at the same time!!! Like I get that feeling in my stomach every time I see him. Please Help!!! The whole situation is starting to make me sick! |

| Alright this might help clear up my prob just a little. I am having the same problem that nicole did on here topic in the advise from other readers forum. I am almost possitive that this guy likes this other girl but I just can't get over him!!??!!! I mean he just keeps talking to me and when he does that he makes me think that he likes me an then he turns around and starts talking to the girl that I think he likes again just like he talked to me!! He is just like giving me mixed signs or something!! Man! what a situation!!! Please Help! I have been praying about this for a long time. |

I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging or anything, but I have a 17-year-old nephew that is one of the best-looking, and sweetest kids I've ever met. So NOT a jerk. But I also know that a lot of times guys "act like jerks" because they're actually trying to impress a girl they like. You know, lke, they're trying to be macho.
Yeah, I don't get it, either, but that seems to be how guys work! Just a thought!

I've been in that boat... its like you're repelled by his actions, but you cant help liking him... I've learnt that over time, you do figure out if he's worth it or not. God can also help you figure it out. but you have to listen. Like if I wanted to like him even when God said no, sometimes id do it anyway, but it just made me feel worse.
I agree with Julie that there are decent guys out there. My Brother is turning 17 in a few days, and He is one of the nicest guy's I know. thats big for a sister to be able to say that about her brother.
like He's not a girl chaser and he loves God with all his heart. He's a little shy, but hey, its better than having an egomaniac brother  |

| I'd say usually when guys act like jerks they are just trying to act macho and tough and like they're all that MOST of the time. So don't take him too seriously. And also don't act like you like him back yet if he's liking you and someone else.Just give it to God and trust God to be in control. That always works. |

ooh, melody! i had this EXACT problem pretty bad a little less than three years ago. this guy at my church, whom i've grown up with, was suchhha jerk. he was totally blase about being a Christian, led a double life, the whole she-bang. and yet i still liked him! but slowly, God taught me to lean on Him and not anybody else OR my feelings. i'm totally and completely over him nowadays. it's like i never even liked him at all!
and i knowww you may think you could NEVER, EVER get over this amazing fella, but seriously. in all honesty, as a sister in Christ, you probably will! just trust God and He'll bring you through it. and don't just TELL yourself or God you trust Him, BELIEVE it and WALK in that. okay?

| Hey, I liked this guy and I couldn't stop thinking about him but he wuz a foul-mouthed disgusting macho jerk (seriously). After being around him for a while, I realized that he wasn't worth thinking about. My mind kept on going back to the thought that in the long run...it wasn't worth it. Good luck! |
